Ustream
Whenever Straight No Chaser has some particularly exciting news to share, they announce on SNCmusic.com that there will be a live web chat on their Ustream SNC-TV channel within the next week or so. Usually, they will start out by telling us the big news (hint: they don't take the word "exciting" lightly!) and then they will answer questions live from the Chasers through the Ustream chat feature. In order to ask questions, you have to be registered on the Ustream site, so it's a good idea to do that before the day of the chat. Double-check your settings ahead of time and decide whether you also want your questions to show up in your Twitter and Facebook feeds or not. There are a couple of archived chats on the channel - last time they told us about the cruise!
Ultimate Ears
A SNC FAQ: What are those things they wear in their ears and what do they hear in them?
A: They're called "In-ear monitors." SNC uses a version made by Logitech called "Ultimate Ears."
Just for fun: If you go here and click on page 16 you'll see Straight No Chaser listed under artists who are using UE. If you're really interested there are also some videos and photos of some other earpieces worn by other musicians.
Ryan answers a question about what they hear through the monitors in this discussion thread (just scroll through until you see his post) Question For Any SNC Member.
They don't all use them, Jerome prefers not to. As Ryan mentions, they are all customized for each individual. Ryan's are green and I think Don's are clear (he might have a photo on it or something that we can't see).

Mike's are blue.

And Charlie's are orange and glow in the dark, especially during the blue lighting in Fix You.
Randy's say "SNC" and are customized with his own photo of the Chicago Theater marquee.
Uptown Girl
During both of their summer residencies at Harrah's Resort in Atlantic City, SNC did a serenade song. In 2010 it was You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin', and in 2011 it was Uptown Girl. At each show one of the guys would go into the audience and pick a lady to bring on stage for the song. There are a lot of videos of both songs on YouTube and it's absolutely worth watching all of them because each lady's reaction was different.
In August 2011, one of the lucky ladies for Uptown Girl was Ms. Goldie Hawn!
